Surya Kriya

Surya Kriya is a potent 21-step yogic practice of tremendous antiquity, designed as a holistic process for health and inner wellbeing.

“Surya” means “sun,” and “kriya” means “inner energy process.” Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus to raise the samat prana, or solar heat, in the system. It also balances a person’s left and right energy channels, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This strong foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life.

There are numerous benefits of Surya Kriya

    • There is complete expansion and contraction of all lobes of the lungs causing emptying of lungs and refilling.

    • This causes better ventilation resulting in better gas exchange at the cellular level causing revitalization and rejuvenation of the cells keeping the cells healthy.

    • Capacity of the lungs increases over a period of time.

    • Improves functioning of the heart causing better circulation resulting in better blood supply to vital organs.

Teaching methodology

We follow a precise and supportive approach rooted in the ancient science of Classical Hatha Yoga.

  • You can learn Surya Kriya either in a group or private 1:1 class. This practice can’t be learnt in an online session. All the sessions are mandatory to attend.

  • This practice can be learnt by anyone who is 14 years or above.

  • Empty stomach conditions required.

    • To learn this practice, it may take minimum 6 hours in a committed class.

    • 2 sessions, 3 hour each, or

    • 3 sessions, 2 hour each

    • Once you have learnt these practices, it would take about 30-40 min to do this practice at home on a daily basis.

  • We usually recommend to come back for a guided practice correction or review session after 2-3 months or once you complete 1 mandala (40 days) of regular practice.
